End of May

I know it's been a while! And before I continue, I want to make sure to remind you that you can still pick up the novella, Among my Souvenirs, on Kindle for just 99 CENTS through May 31! You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087MT48QX

Do you know that May has always been my favorite month? This May has been a little strange, though, hasn't it? And just like the weather here in the northwest during this month, it has both held gloomy clouds of oppression, as well as optimistic brightness and the warmth of hope.

In my first novel, The Sentimental Journey, it is actually the month of May when Kara travels through time and lands on the home front of WWII. She arrives with birds still singing and the scents of spring hanging lusciously in the air.

May, 1943.

And despite the natural beauty all around...despite the vintage charm she encounters...the world was simultaneously sighing with heaviness and turmoil.

It was the middle of the second world war.

Is it just me, or can you relate a bit in this time in history? Our world is in chaos in so many ways...on so many levels. Still, there is beauty around us that refuses to bow down to the ugliness. Just as was the case in May, 1943.

And in this broken, sinful world, there will always be a certain amount of chaos until Jesus comes back again. In the meantime, look for the beauty He's planted here, hiding in plain sight.
